وقال خلال مؤتمر “سيرا ويك” السنوي في هيوستن: «لم ترتفع الأسعار بعدُ إلى الحد الذي يُؤدي إلى انخفاض كبير في الطلب».

وأوضح أن واشنطن تبنت حلولاً عملية للسماح بدخول النفط الخاضع للعقوبات والموجود في البحار إلى السوق، لكنه أفاد أن هذه ليست سوى حلول مؤقتة لتخفيف الضغوط في السوق.

وأضاف وزير الطاقة: «إن الكمية المطروحة حتى الآن» تُقدّر بنحو ثلاثة ملايين برميل «من أصل أكثر من 415 مليون برميل تمتلكها الولايات المتحدة».

يذكر أنه في إطار جهودٍ تُنسقها وكالة الطاقة الدولية، بدأت الولايات المتحدة أخيراً بطرح جزء من احتياطياتها الإستراتيجية في السوق.

He stated during the annual “CERAWeek” conference in Houston: “Prices have not yet risen to the level that would lead to a significant drop in demand.”

He explained that Washington has adopted practical solutions to allow sanctioned oil in the seas to enter the market, but he noted that these are only temporary solutions to alleviate pressure in the market.

The Energy Secretary added: “The amount released so far” is estimated at about three million barrels “out of more than 415 million barrels owned by the United States.”

It is worth mentioning that as part of efforts coordinated by the International Energy Agency, the United States has recently begun to release a portion of its strategic reserves into the market.
