وقال ناجاتسوما: «إن مسؤولاً من منظمة اليابان لأمن المعادن والطاقة في قاعدة شيبوشي الوطنية لتخزين النفط قال إن وكالة الموارد الطبيعية والطاقة أبلغت القاعدة بالتعليمات يوم الجمعة الماضي».

وأضاف: «التفاصيل مثل توقيت عملية السحب من المخزون لم تتضح بعد، كما لم يتضح حتى الآن ما إذا كانت أي قواعد تخزين أخرى تلقت تعليمات مماثلة».

وأحجم مسؤول في وكالة الموارد الطبيعية والطاقة، التابعة لوزارة الاقتصاد والتجارة والصناعة، عن التعليق.

ولم يتسن الحصول على تعليق حتى الآن من إدارة قاعدة شيبوشي، كما لم يتسن التواصل مع منظمة اليابان لأمن المعادن والطاقة خارج ساعات العمل الرسمية.

وتقع شيبوشي في جنوب اليابان، وهي من مواقع تخزين احتياطات النفط الاستراتيجية للبلاد.

وتعتمد اليابان على الشرق الأوسط في الحصول على إمداداتها من النفط الخام، مع عبور هذه الإمدادات عبر مضيق هرمز الذي جرى إغلاقه فعلياً عقب الهجمات الأمريكية والإسرائيلية على إيران.

Nagatsuma said, “An official from the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security at the Shibushi National Oil Storage Base stated that the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy informed the base of the instructions last Friday.”

He added, “Details such as the timing of the withdrawal from the reserves are not yet clear, and it is also unclear whether any other storage bases have received similar instructions.”

An official from the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, which is part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, declined to comment.

No comment has been obtained yet from the Shibushi base management, and it has not been possible to contact the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security outside of official working hours.

Shibushi is located in southern Japan and is one of the country’s strategic oil reserve storage sites.

Japan relies on the Middle East for its crude oil supplies, with these supplies passing through the Strait of Hormuz, which has effectively been closed following the American and Israeli attacks on Iran.
